Therapy Appointments

Our mental health professionals (psychologist, social worker, counsellor) provide therapy to clients, helping people effectively manage their mental health, navigate challenging life circumstances and improve daily functioning. Our mental health professionals help children and adolescents with a variety of presenting issues, including developmental disorders (such as Autism and ADHD), anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, social skills difficulties, and bullying.  We work collaboratively with the child, their family, their teachers, and other health professionals to provide a holistic approach to therapy where possible, with a focus on using evidence-based therapies in fun and engaging ways to help children develop the skills they need to thrive.  We have a wide collection of resources (toys, art materials, crafts, playdough, books, puppets, kimochis, sensory and fidget items, biofeedback devices, games etc) that we utilise during our therapy appointments.  Additionally, each child is provided with a folder that includes key handouts related to appointment content.  Over time the folder becomes a useful “instruction manual” related to each child’s priorities and goals set during the therapy journey.

We also offer therapy to adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and stress, as well as those seeking parent support. Unfortunately, at this stage we are unable to offer psychological support to adults experiencing more chronic mental illnesses (E.g., Schizophrenia, Dissociative Disorder, Personality Disorders).  Our mental health professionals focus on providing therapy directly related to the goals/priorities set by the client.  Therapy is not “just talking” and we incorporate and teach a range of practical and evidenced-based strategies and provide handouts to complement session content.  We encourage clients to view the therapy process as upskilling to assist with navigating life’s challenges and for processing and managing negative thoughts and emotions that may arise.
