Other Information

- If you are accessing support for a child, please note that your initial appointment will be for caregivers only.
- The initial appointment is a great opportunity to openly discuss your concerns, needs, goals and support required. Information discussed typically includes presenting concern/s, developmental history (communication, social and emotional development, motor abilities, sensory processing), sleep patterns, diet, medical/health background, educational background/progress, family relationships, family history, social abilities and friendships, strengths and interests. Additionally, our practitioner will explore with you what you are hoping to get out of your treatment at Smiles All Round (goals), or what changes you are hoping for.
- Following your initial appointment, our team meet to discuss your information, concerns and goals. From there we determine a treatment program that we believe best meets your child's needs and we allocate a team member/s that we think best suits your family/child. Once we've held our team meeting, you will receive an email or phone call to arrange future appointments. We highly recommend scheduling a minimum of 6 appointments in advance, in order to avoid disappointment and to encourage consistency. Due to the high demand for our services we don't want people to miss out.
- From time to time, following an initial appointment we may decide that we don't have the expertise required to support you and/or your child. If this is the case, a team member will contact you to discuss other possible support options. It is unethical for us to work outside of our scope of expertise, thus, we believe it is important to discuss this openly with patients and link them with other service options.
- If our service has an extensive waiting list at the time of your enquiry, or we believe that another service may be better equiped to meet your needs, our team will provide you with a list of services suggestions available in our regions (Limestone Coast and West Wimmera).
